I read the Salon article. How horribly sad for all of us who have visited the area for decades to kick back, enjoy the scene and re-energize.
I recently lived in Marathon/Alpine for 4 years and loved the time I spent out there. Somewhat reluctantly, I then moved to San Antonio. But West Texas was always "out there" for me - and all the others who love it so dearly.
I can't even imagine going out there for that invigorating road trip and mini-sabbatical.
Oh you silly pompous posers - go away. Please. I, like so many others, want to carry on our traditions in West Texas. And your shenanigans (your arrogance?ouch!) would be just too much to observe and be around. Oh well, locusts and their damage eventually go away - maybe there is hope.
