Klaxons vs Donald Judd @ Tate Modern

klaxons judd marfaThe Tate Modern has an interesting program, Tate Tracks, in which the museum invites a contemporary musical act to write music in response to a specific artwork. The musician/band gets a tour of the Tate's collection and selects a piece of their choice. After the song is produced, Tate visitors may listen to it on headphones as they view the artwork.

Klaxons, a London-based threesome, selected Judd's Untitled 1980 (a large stack). Check it out here.

Tate Tracks has created 11 match-ups to date and now they are soliciting a 12th from the general public. Other artist/musician duos include The Chemical Brothers vs. Jacob Epstein, Union of Knives vs. Cy Twombly, and Man Like Me vs. Marcel Duchamp.
