500E, Austin-Based Collective

500E, a collaboration of Austin artists, announces a visual art presentation showcasing the new works of Sean Gaulager, Adreon Henry, Germaine Keller, Jacob Villanueva, and Hank Waddell.

The exposition will run during OH Weekend.

Sean Gaulager, an installation artist as well as a co-founder of Cantanker Magazine and the assistant director at Volitant Gallery, will be exhibiting a site-specific piece using art installation materials and empty picture frames.

Adreon Henry creates mixed media paintings made of canvas and vinyl using silkscreens and acrylic. Henry has shown work in various parts of the world including Los Angeles and Biarritz, France.

Germaine Keller works with digital photographs, linear computer drawings and wire constructions. Keller is the recipient of numerous grants and fellowships including the National Endowment of the Arts, the Athena Foundation, and a residency from The MacDowell Colony.

Hank Waddell is a sculptor whose work frequents the Umlauf Sculpture Gardens in Austin and has shown pieces during OH Weekend for the past 7 years. "My first trip to Marfa was a present to myself for my 50th birthday and the start of a commitment to art as a way of life. This year, I have asked some of thebest talent I know to share in this experience with me," stated Waddell.

Jacob Villanueva is a video installation artist and a member of the Open Doors Collective. Villanueva will be showing a work in progress video for an upcoming show in November 2007 at The Dallas Contemporary.

500E extends its invitation to view the works of these artists to the public. A special performance piece by Bunnyphonic and a DJ set by The Sleeves is scheduled Friday night. A live musical set by Austin-based band,Single Frame, will follow Saturday night. Both events are sponsored by Vitamin Water and Sparks.
