The alumni of the Blackwell School have grand plans for the beautiful old adobe schoolhouse located at the corner of Abbot and Waco Streets. The school was closed with the end of segregation in Marfa and has sat empty for many years, but that will all change if a dedicated group of Bronco alums have their way. The group whose website is
www.blackwell07.org held a fund-raising reunion this weekend which was a great success and drew up to 400 people.
The plans include restoring the structure to be used as a museum and community center.
