Punk Show at Ray's on Saturday

From the Send a Scoop form at the bottom of this page (which by the way, we may have to axe due to the enormous amount of spam it generates), we hear that the "world-renown trashpunk" band The Erotics will be playing at Ray's Bar on Saturday, July 21 at about 10:00 PM.

Local punk act The Corpses will be opening. Show will be free but donations to the touring band are strongly encouraged.

Florida-based artist Christine Desiree uses LED lights in her "chromotherapy paintings" which harken back to Flavin's work. It makes me wonder what Flavin would have/ could have done with this technology...

There's a guy on eBay practically giving away copies of an interview with Judd here. I snagged one and it's well worth it if you'd like to hear directly from Judd on various topics.

Need something to do for the weekend? How about you update Donald Judd's Wikipedia entry?

Three Artists Cover the Color Spectrum
[Former Chinati Artist in Residence] Jeff Elrod has recently joined the growing artist enclave in Marfa... Elrod continues to explore the interface between computer drawing and the most traditional painting approach, meticulously crafting hard-edged, pixilated abstract figures on linen. Their simplicity lends them an impact that belies their means, and they converse knowingly with late modern masters like Robert Ryman, Brice Marden, Robert Mangold and Sol LeWitt.
